Master Key System is a book that is not only that survived the test of time and still remains an incredible and relevent book today, but the stories surrounding it are perhaps just as interesting.
In 1919, Napoleon Hill wrote Haanel a letter thanking him for The Master Key System. In the letter Hill stated, “My present success and the success which has followed my work as President of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely to the principles laid down in The Master-Key System.”
It was published in 1913. There is an unconfirmed rumor that Bill Gates read this in college just prior to dropping out and forming Microsoft. Back in 2004, 2 years before the sensational viral web phenomenon “the secret” I remember there was information that Bill Gates did in fact read it, however he was a bookworm who read a lot, and it was believed to have had little to do with his success at Microsoft. Nevertheless, there is no proof that it didn’t have a greater impact than he (or those around him) may have thought. The supporters and marketers had little reason to share this information or quote to verify he did in fact read it, so it remained very unheard about until after it started getting a lot more hype and attention after the secret. It was never that popular of an article anyways, so even many supporters didn’t realize it. With additional hype rather than only those actively seeking for this kind of information, there were many detractors who claimed that these claims were marketing hype and much information about the actual facts got lost.
The mind development system was mastered by the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Theodore Roosevelt and many other great minds of yesterday and today.
